UK-based medical devices company, Sky Medical Technology, has been crowned winner of the Innovation Award at the 2019 Business Masters North West Awards.
Sky’s platform technology OnPulse™, embedded in their innovative geko™ device, adopted across a growing number of NHS Trusts, has championed pioneering solutions to some of healthcare’s most pressing challenges.
Business Masters celebrated the Daresbury-based business’ domestic and international success, which has seen it take its North West developed innovations to an increasing number of global markets.
Alongside innovation, the awards also recognised Sky’s ‘clinician first’ approach. By engaging and mobilising healthcare partners willing to embrace innovation to improve patient care, Sky has been able to generate real-world clinical and health economic data, and have translated this across a global distributor partner network to generate export sales.

The Innovation trophy comes off the back of another recent win, with Sky securing Medilink North’s Acute Care Award for a collaborative clinical audit to assess the geko™ device for venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention in the acute stroke care pathway.
